agent role held by an agent that receives material entities delivered to it, realized in a receiving process

A recipient role is distinct from a buyer role: the agent that receives delivered material entities need not be the agent that purchased them (a third-party warehouse receives on a buyer’s behalf; internal transfers have a recipient and no buyer). The two roles may be borne by the same agent in different respects.

The recipient is the agent on whose side the receiving process occurs; agents acting for the sender, such as a carrier delivering the goods, participate in the delivery but do not bear this role.
