Definition

N-glycosylated residue in which a glycan is covalently attached to the side-chain nitrogen of an L-asparagine residue

Explanatory Notes

The term β€œN4-glycosyl-L-asparagine” follows the classical IUPAC atom-numbering scheme, in which the side-chain amide nitrogen of L-asparagine is designated as N4. This nitrogen is the site of N-linked glycosylation.
