SubClass Of: solution saturation state

Class Hierarchy

owl:Thing β€Ί bfo:entity β€Ί bfo:occurrent β€Ί bfo:process β€Ί material state β€Ί solution saturation state β€Ί unsaturated state

Definition

material state of a solution in which the dissolved solute concentration stays below the solute’s equilibrium saturation concentration in that solution under prevailing conditions

Examples

  • a sodium chloride buffer in which additional sodium chloride can still dissolve at 20 Β°C; a cell culture medium in which calcium and phosphate remain below the precipitation limit at pH 7.0 and 37 Β°C; a formulation vehicle containing a poorly soluble drug substance below its equilibrium saturation concentration at 25 Β°C;

Primitive Class

This class is declared primitive and it does not have necessary and sufficient condiftions defined.

Primitive Rationale

There are insufficient constructs for creating a set of necessary and sufficient conditions
